Meet the Choir Nights

September 14, 21, & 28

7:00 - 9:00 PM

Unitarian Church of Edmonton (10804 119 Street NW)

Edmonton Vocal Minority welcomes ALL interested singers: gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit or queer, and their straight and cisgender allies. There are no auditions and you don't have to be a fabulous singer to join. If you can carry a tune, you will make the cut. EVM provides vocal training, while at the same time offering a safe and accepting environment in the company of a great group of friendly people.

EVM is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where diversity is embraced and celebrated. Singers of all ethnicities, sexual orientations and gender identities are welcome.

Singers will often be expected to memorise the music for performance and occasionally learn simple choreography.  A certain amount of self-study is expected.

Join EVM in September 2026

The next opportunity to join EVM will be in September 2026.  Interested singers are welcome to attend one of the open rehearsals on the dates above and give EVM a try.

If you have any questions you can e-mail sing@evmchoir.com.

Health & Safety for Rehearsals

For the 2025-2026 season, face masks at rehearsals are optional. A section of the choircan be reserved for those who wish to be isolated and sing only with other masked singers, however, masked singers may also choose to sit with unmasked singers.

  1. Always bring a face-mask to rehearsal in case the choir divides into small groups and masking seems appropriate.
  2. If singers are feeling unwell in any way, they are asked not to attend rehearsals.
